MSOC | Voyageurs Downed by Rams

MSOC | Voyageurs Downed by Rams

The fifth best team in the country, the Ryerson Rams, beat the Laurentian Voyageurs by a score of 3-1 on Saturday afternoon.

The Rams outplayed the Voyageurs in many aspects of the match. But especially, in the shot department. They recorded a total of 13 shots to the Voyageurs' five. They opened scoring in the 29th  minute when Abdallah El-Chanti scored with an assist from Nathaniel Tambakis. It wouldn't take long for the Rams to add another and have a two goal cushion as they scored just one minute later when Kai Martin found the back of the net with an assist from Christopher Castillo. The Voyageurs tried their best to get back into the game but were unable to find a goal. The first half would then come to an end with the scoreline reading 2-0 for the Rams.

However, in the 53rd minute, the Voyageurs' spirits were lifted when Zef Kraja cut the lead in half when he scored his first of the season on an assist from Jacob Gramegna. The Vees played strongly and were determined to get a point throughout the rest of the match as the Rams were unable to add an insurance. However, the Voyageurs were unable to get the equalizing goal and the Rams' offence was able to get by the Voyageur defence in the 90th minute when Raheem Rose scored on an assist from Kussai Salman.

Despite the loss, the Voyageurs are still assured of a playoff spot entering the final match of the regular season and tomorrow's match outcome will be a moot point as they will take on the Toronto Varsity Blues tomorrow at 5:15 pm. The match will be broadcast live on OUA.tv.
