MSOC | Voyageurs Earn Point in Card-Filled Affair

The men's soccer team paid a visit to the Trent Excalibur on Sunday, looking to get back into the win column.  In an extremely spirited affair that saw eight yellow cards dished out, a late Giancarlo Galluzzo goal would preserve the Voyageurs a point in a 1-1 tie.

The first half was a back and forth affair with each team putting three shots on target but unable to beat the keepers.  The intensity ratcheted up in the second half and the Voyageurs were sent down to 10 men as Aidan Kang picked up his second yellow in the 61^st minute.  The Excalibur capitalized and opened the scoring shortly thereafter in the 65^th minute.  Against the odds, Galluzzo fired home a pass from Nicolas Patenaude in the 84^th minute to secure the draw and a point.  Ben Firman made four saves in the tie.

The men will now hit the road on Saturday when they visit the Carleton Ravens on their only game of the weekend. Kick off is scheduled for 3:15pm.
