The men's soccer team headed to Kingston to close out the regular season with one clear goal in mind; take care of business and punch their ticket to the playoffs. That quest began on Saturday at RMC and, after a flurry of goals late in the first half, a 4-0 victory means the team has everything to play for tomorrow.
The Voyageurs came out pressing the attack but were unable to break through until a Giancarlo Galluzzo penalty kick in the 27th minute finally saw the visitors get on the board. That goal provided a spark and the team was rewarded with three more goals in the late stages of the first half. Eddy Opoku-Dapaah (41st), Nicolas Patenaude (PK, 44th) and Jaiden Santo (45th), all tickled the twine for the Voyageurs who cruised over the final 45 minutes for the 4-0 win. Lucas Cidade had a handful of shots sent his way but was not credited with a save in the clean-sheet win, his first of the season.
The win set's up a crucial game tomorrow as a victory over the Queen's Gaels by three goals or more will see the team punch their ticket to the OUA playoffs.
