Laurentian entered their game against TMU coming off a hard-fought tie at home against Ontario Tech. Despite a quick start from the Vees, the Bold were strong throughout, winning
4–2.
In a must-win game, Laurentian came out of the gate fast, determined to get their season back on track. Their fast start was rewarded as Maliq Olanrewaju pounced on a loose ball and netted his second goal of the season 15 minutes into the match. However, the Voyageurs' lead was short-lived. TMU midfielder Brandon Verburg swung in a free kick through multiple players that had eyes on it, as it nestled into the bottom corner to tie the game at one. The home side took the lead just past the half-hour mark, as Noah Bickford headed home a cross from Verburg. TMU kept up the pressure, but the Voyageurs were able to stop the bleeding, and the 2–1 scoreline held at halftime.
In the second half, the Bold were awarded a penalty just nine minutes in. Jamie Benayon-Abraham placed the penalty just over the outstretched arm of Laurentian goalie Nate
Shull, making it 3–1 TMU. This marked Benayon-Abraham's first goal of the season. With Laurentian pushing to get back into the game, TMU capitalized, as a swift fast break found the
foot of Nico Barros, who tucked it home for their fourth goal of the afternoon. The Vees made the score look better with a late goal from Sam Howard, but TMU comfortably took the match 4–2.
To keep their playoff hopes alive, Tony Tagliaferro's men will need a win against the University of Toronto on Sunday at Varsity Stadium.
