The Laurentian Voyageurs men's soccer team hit the road for the first time this season with a trip to Kingston to face off against the RMC Paladins and Queen's Gaels, looking to pick up their first points of the season.

The first game of the weekend took place at the Royal Military College and a matchup against the Paladins. With both teams taking their time to find their footing in the game, the first major call was made in the 23rd minute as Timi Aliu converted a penalty to get the Voyageurs up and running.

It didn't take long for the Voyageurs to double their advantage as sustained pressure resulted in a goal scored by Nico Patenaude to give the Voyageurs some breathing room late in the first half.

Then, just before the break, the Voyageurs were given another massive boost when RMC forward, Charbel Haddad, picked up his second yellow card of the half. Just like that, as the first half came to a close, the Voyageurs had a 2-0 lead and an 11-10 advantage on the pitch for the second half.

The story of the second half was more of the same as the man advantage allowed the Voyageurs to build on their lead, as chances were converted by both Jaiden Santo in the 61st minute and Daniel Alexa in the 83rd, giving Laurentian a 4-0 lead that they would never give up.

Goalkeeper Nate Shull picked up his first clean sheet of the season, and his OUA career, as he and the Voyageurs will wrap up the weekend down the road at Queen's.
