The Voyageurs commenced the weekend with a tough opponent this January 18th and 19th weekend. The McGill Redmen had previously beat Laurentian 4-1 earlier in the year meaning that the Voyageurs had an opportunity to make the record 1-1.
Unfortunately today would not be the day of offence for the Voyageurs as through sixty minutes of hockey they were unable to beat the Redmen and Louis-Phillipe Guindon who stopped all thirty shots he faced.
On McGill's end, Michael Cramarossa scored his fourth goal of the season on the power play against Michael Giugovaz. Dominic Talabot-Tassi scored his second goal in twenty-two games putting the Redmen up 2-0 and also ending the scoring.
Mackenzie Savard was called upon after Giugovaz had left the match with a possible injury. Savard would put up a perfect eighteen for eighteen in the 27:35 he played in the game.
The Vees take on the Concordia Stingers tomorrow January 18th in hopes to make the weekend a one win one loss final.
