WHKY | Voyageurs Winning Streak Comes to an End After 4-1 Loss to Waterloo

On Saturday afternoon, the Voyageurs four-game win streak came to an end after losing to Waterloo 4-1.

 Waterloo struck first blood at 5:43 of the first period when Angela MacDonald managed to beat Laura Deller on the powerplay. MacDonald's goal was the only goal of the period and the first 20 minutes ended with Waterloo outshooting the Voyageurs 8-4.

The second period was more of the same as the Voyageurs took three straight penalties to begin the period. Waterloo increased their lead to two at 8:44 of the second, when Tegan Odland scored for the Warriors. Rachel Mariott would add to the Warriors' lead in the dying minute of the period and both teams would head into the dressing room for the second intermission with the Voyageurs down by three.

After surrendering another powerplay goal, the Voyageurs finally scored a goal of their own at 16:07 of the period. Morgan McCann, on the powerplay, scored with assists from Sara Habal and Kennedy Lanktree. Laura Deller made 24 saves for the Voyageurs in the afternoon loss. 

The Voyageurs are back in action on Sunday as they try to get back into the win column when they travel to Laurier to take on the Golden Hawks at 7:30pm.
