WHKY | Voyageurs End Season With Overtime Loss

The Laurentian Voyageurs women's hockey team played their final game of the 2019-2020 season against the Guelph Gryphons in Sudbury this afternoon.

Tonight's matchup was senior night and the Voyageurs would send their farewells to the graduating players Morgan McCann, Danielle Toland, Annie Sherdian and Regan Toltesi

After Davison opened the scoring for the Gryphons just under halfway through the first the Voyageurs would go for a two goal effort late in the first and just over halfway through the second frame.

The first Voyageur goal would come from Maddy Heeny after sending home a one-timer in the slot for her third goal of the season and the equalizer. Morgan McCann would get the assist for her twenty-first assist in her five years for the Voyageurs.

The next goal would come from Annie Sherdian after roofing a loose puck beyond Davidson and scoring her third goal of the 2019-2020 season but as well her tenth and final goal as a Voyageur. Regan Toltesi would get an assist making for her sixth assist in four years as a Voyageur and Hoskin would get the second.

The Gryphons would add another goal making for a 2-2 game and sending this final game for the Voyageurs to overtime. The Gryphons would finally break the Voyageurs' Danielle Toland. Toland would make forty-three saves on the night, including some seemingly impossible saves in overtime.

The Voyageurs would drop both of their final games this weekend and end their season 10-10-4, 10th place in the OUA.
