WHKY | Voyageurs Narrowly Lose to #8 Mustangs

The Laurentian Voyageurs women's hockey team started their first set of home games tonight, at Countryside Arena against the Western Mustangs.

The Mustangs finished off the 2018-19 season 14-7 and had a favorable 3-1 start to the 2019-20 season.

The Mustangs would be first and the last to fill the score sheet as they had beat Dolighan twice in the second period. One goal coming from Sarah Irwin and the second from Sydnee Baker.

Laurentian would be fortunate enough to score in between both Mustangs goals but they would only be able to beat Carmen Lasis once. Karrissa Hoskin would be sent on a breakaway from Natalie Lamarche and send the puck over the pad of Lasis giving Hoskin her second goal of the season.

Dolighan would stop twenty-nine shots but unfortunately take the loss. The Voyageurs play tomorrow at Countryside against the Windsor Lancers. Puck drop is just after 4 pm.
