The Laurentian Voyageurs played the Guelph Gryphons this Saturday afternoon.
The Laurentian Voyageurs women's hockey team is currently unable to make playoffs and have two more games that essentially have no effect on their progress.
Although this game meant nothing the Laurentian Voyageurs gave the Gryphons made them work for the overtime win.
After no scoring in the first period the Voyageurs would come back and ready to attack in the second. Just a little over halfway through the second period Myla McCormick would receive a pass from Brynn O'Dwyer, Myla would then set a beautiful feed to Morgan McCann for a cross crease goal on Guelph's Boulieu making for a 1-0.
Just four minutes later Lauren Lanni was left open at the back door on Shanna Dolighan and she would receive a pass from Madison Melo making for a 1-1 game.
After a resultless third period and almost overtime the Gryphons would prevail as with just six seconds left Stephanie Gava would beat Dolighan and win the game.
The Voyageurs will play the Brock Badgers for their final home game Febuary 10th.
