WSOC | Voyageurs Fall in Lopsided Game
The women's soccer team headed to North Bay on Saturday, looking to bounce back from a tough loss against Trent a week earlier. Instead, the Nipissing Lakers struck early and often, walking away with an 11-0 victory.
The onslaught began in the fourth minute and before the game was 11 minutes old, it was already 3-0 for the Lakers. The Voyageurs settled things down at that point, conceding just one more goal in the half. However, the second half provided more of the same, with the Lakers scoring four more times in the opening 15 minutes to put the game well out of reach.
Hunter Jones did turn away 13 of the 24 shots she faced in the defeat. The team will look to put this game behind them when they welcome the Lakers to Sudbury tomorrow to wrap up their weekend.
