The women's soccer team opened the home portion of their schedule on Sunday when they hosted the Carleton Ravens.  After seeing the Voyageurs grab an early lead, the Ravens broke through with a pair of strikes in injury time to steal the victory and the three points.

After the game began with some decent chances from the Ravens, Charlie Capper got on the end of an Amélie Pires free kick in the 19th minute to open her OUA scoring account and give the Voyageurs a lead from their first shot of the game.  From that point on, it was the Hunter Jones show as the keeper turned aside shot after shot.  All told, Jones turned aside a whopping 13 shots in the contest.  Unfortunately, that impressive performance was not enough.

In the 92nd minute, Carleton's Ava Mills cut along the end line and slotted a ball into the top of the net to square the game at 1.  Just three minutes later, the Ravens' Lauren Illman had a quick strike from outside the 18 yard box that just eluded the outstretched finger tips of Jones.  The final whistle sounded seconds later as the Ravens headed home with a 2-1 win.

Jones' 13 saves in the contest now leaves her with 28 saves in just two games, far and away the most of any keeper in the OUA.  She and the rest of the team will now have a week off before they hit the pitch again on Sept. 13th at Nipissing.
