After a frustrating night on Friday in North Bay, the Laurentian Voyageurs Women's Soccer team looked to bounce back on Saturday afternoon at home against the red-hot Ottawa Gee-Gees.

With the visitors coming into this matchup as one of best teams in U SPORTS this season, it was always going to be a tough matchup for the hometown Voyageurs. After the two teams exchanged early chances, the first goal fell the way of the visitors as the Gee-Gees jumped out to a 1-0 lead. All throughout the first half Laurentian was put under intense pressure. A total of 21 shots were fired towards Noemie Bouchard in the Laurentian goal and, as the referee signaled for halftime, the scoreboard read 5-0 for the undefeated Gee-Gees.

It seemed as though nothing was working for Laurentian all weekend as, in the second half Ottawa added another 3 tallies to make it an 8-0 final and an unfortunate ending to the Vees' weekend.

Laurentian will look to improve on a 0-4-0 start to the season as they continue a 5 game home stand next weekend when they take on the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks on Saturday and the Trent Excalibur on Sunday, with both matches scheduled to kick off at noon.
