After picking up their first away win of the season the previous day in Peterborough the Laurentian Voyageurs Women's Soccer Team traveled to Oshawa to take on the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks to round out their weekend.

With the game underway Laurentian were poised to come away with all 6 possible points over the weekend and having a taste of revenge after their defeat earlier in the season at the hands of the Ridgebacks. However it did not take long for the home team to strike as in the 14th minute Ontario Tech would drive down the right wing side with Sara Wylie sending in a wild cross into the box. The mis-hit cross ended up traveling towards the Voyageurs goal, with goalkeeper Hunter Jones not expecting an effort towards goal her reaction save wasn't enough as the ball flew over her and into the far corner of the net giving the Ridgebacks a 1-0 lead.

For the rest of the match Laurentian's defense stood strong, not allowing Ontario Tech any more major opportunities to extend their lead. The problem ended up not being able to create any real chances themselves, manufacturing just one total shot on target over the course of the match. This would mean that although their defense stood strong throughout the rest of the game their inability to score meant the 1-0 scoreline would not change for the rest of the match and ending in defeat for the Voyageurs.

With a split weekend Laurentian will try to build momentum and push for a playoff spot next weekend as they travel to Toronto to face the U of T Varsity Blues and TMU Bold in their final two games of the season. Both games are set to begin at 1 pm on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
