WSOC | Last Second PK Save Preserves Tie

The women's soccer team welcomed the Carleton Ravens to Laurentian on Saturday in the back end of a home-and-home.  Looking to avenge a 3-0 defeat just six days earlier, the Voyageurs more than held their own to secure a point.

Despite what the scoreline might suggest, the game was action packed, with quality chances going both ways.  However, the goalkeepers just had the upper hand every time as Hunter Jones and Chloe Lachance-Soulard went save for save.  It appeared that the Voyageurs' strong game was going to be for naught, however, as, in second half injury time, Kaylee Spridgeon took her player down in the box and the referee pointed to the spot.  Chloe Dorion stepped up for the Ravens, looking to steal a victory but Jones had other plans.  Dorion struck the ball pure but Jones guessed right, diving down to her left and keeping the ball out of the net for her eighth save of the game to keep the scoreline 0-0.

Spridgeon, Jones and the rest of the team will now have a full week off before they host the Nipissing Lakers next Saturday at 12pm.
