The women's soccer team hit the road for a pair of games at Ontario Tech and Trent this past weekend and came home with a split.

On Saturday, against the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks, the Voyageurs opened the scoring in the 13th minute when Mary Whiffen potted her first career OUA goal on a penalty kick.  When the Ridgebacks stepped to the spot for a PK of their own just eight minutes later, Hunter Jones was equal to the task, maintaining the 1-0 scoreline.  The lead was shortlived, however, as the Ridgebacks broke through in the 30th minute and proceeded to score two goals inside of six minutes to take a 2-1 lead into the half.  The second half was a much more subdued 45 minutes with only a handful of scoring opportunities.  The Ridgebacks would add one more goal to secure the 3-1 win.

The following day, the women headed to Trent, looking to bounce back.  It did not take long as, just two minutes into the game, Trent could not clear the corner kick and Caitlyne Kervin pounced, firing home her second goal of the season.  From there on, the Voyageurs kept the Excalibur at bay, limiting the hosts to just two shots on goal and securing their first win of the young season, 1-0.

The women hit the road again this upcoming weekend when they visit RMC and Carleton on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
