MBB | Voyageurs Outduel the Lancers at Home
Off the heels of their thrilling comeback in the season opener, the Laurentian University men's basketball team looked to sweep the opening weekend in a matchup with the Windsor Lancers. The Voyageurs managed to grab the 86-82 victory in another nail bitting finish.

The Voyageurs carried the momentum from last night's game into this one, pouring in 47 first half points. Though the season is still young, tonight's first quarter was by far the best basketball the team has played all season. The team drove the paint hard with success and spiced things up with good perimeter shooting. Where the Vee's found success, the Lancers found missed shots. Able to create similar scoring chances as Laurentian, Windsor was unable to finish off their plays.

Following the break the Voyageurs struggled to score in the early goings of the half. With the game now on the line, first-year guard Kadre Gray put the team on his back. Possession after possession Gray drove into the paint yielding what seemed like a made basket or a foul. Thanks to pressure on the defensive end the Vee's were able to hang on for the victory.
Gray finished the game with his first double double, 34 points, 11 rebounds and was the high scorer of the game.
The Voyageurs next game is a road matchup with the Toronto Varsity Blues (1-2) on November 18th.
