After a tough loss to Guelph, the Voyageurs looked to get back into the win column as they faced off against the Golden Hawks this evening at Wilfrid Laurier University.
Despite a tough fight from the visiting team, the ninth ranked Golden Hawks outscored Laurentian gradually in the first three quarters. This resulted in a mere but sufficient lead that ultimately resulted in an 84-78 win in favour of Laurier.
Leading contributor for the Voyageurs was third year guard Kadre Gray who earned a double double with 23 points and 12 assists. Fifth year guard Anthony Iacoe likewise had a strong showing with 22 points in his 39 minutes of game time.
Top scorer for Laurier was Ali Sow with 26 points.
The Voyageurs will have a day to evaluate before they match up against the Warriors at the University of Waterloo tomorrow evening.
