The Voyageurs Men's Basketball team kicked off their annual Ottawa road trip with a contest against the undefeated Ottawa Gee-Gees. As their record indicates, the Gee-Gees are one of the OUA's top teams again this season. Despite the Vee's best efforts they were unable to take down one of the two OUA giants from Ottawa, falling 92-77.
It was Ottawa's meticulous defense and ability to break down the Laurentian defensive front that led to the lopsided victory. Despite their best efforts in the first half, the Vee's were unable to keep up the pace on offense.
David Aromolaran led the Voyageurs with 20 points, while Brody Maracle was the top scorer for the Gee-Gees with 21 points.
The Voyageurs will wrap up their Ottawa road trip tomorrow with a matchup against the undefeated Carleton Ravens (8-0). The action gets underway at the Raven's Nest at 8PM.
