After a close first half against the Algoma Thunderbirds, the Voyageurs fell in the second during their first home court game of the preseason. Falling behind 12 points in the final quarter, Laurentian ultimately took a loss to the Thunderbirds with a final score of 81-69.
The Voyageurs were led by third year guard Kadre Gray who had 28 points and 9 assists in the match. New comer Joseph Hlady added 10 points of his own.
Top scorer for the Thunderbirds was Kristopher Rotterman with 19 points.
Laurentian will have plenty of time to recuperate before they travel out east to play St. Mary's University, University of Prince Edward Island and Dalhousie during the latter part of October.
