MBB | Gee-Gees Trip Up Voyageurs

MBB | Gee-Gees Trip Up Voyageurs

Laurentian was handed another tough loss for the second weekend in a row tonight, as they were downed by the visiting University of Ottawa Gee-Gees. Though competition was pretty much consistent throughout the majority of gameplay, an uneven last quarter showing ultimately resulted in a Laurentian defeat with a final score of 99-90.

A key factor in the result of the game came from the number of long range shots the Gee-Gees were able to sink. Though number of shots off were identical for both teams, and shooting percentage was very similar, Ottawa managed to get off 22 three points shots, while Laurentian only 13.

Top performer for Laurentian was second year guard Kadre Gray who earned another double-double with 38 points and 14 assists in his 40 minutes of gameplay. Another major contributor for the Voyageurs was senior guard David Aromolaran who added 17 points in the match.

Top scorer for the Gee Gees was Calvin Epistola with 22 points.

The Voyageurs will look to move past this upset to complete one of their own- as they take on the number one ranked team in the country, the Carleton Ravens, tomorrow on home court at 8pm.
