The Voyageurs finished their two game series 0-2 against the top ranked Ravens. Although the final score looked similar, falling 88-69, it was a much improved game by the Voyageurs from a day earlier. After being down 13 at the end of the first quarter, the Voyageurs outscored the Ravens by eight in the second quarter to claw their way back to a five point deficit going into the half, 42-37.
Coming out of the break, a Curtis Gordon three-pointer pulled Laurentian to within two but that was as close as they would get as the Voyageurs were outscored 25-12 in the period with the Ravens really ramping up the intensity on defense and focusing more on high efficient shots around the basket in the second half.
LU had a much improved shooting night today, converting at a 37.5% clip, with Haroun Mohamed leading the way again with 15 points and was dishing out some dimes to his teammates, racking up 9 assists in the game. Kamil Dia Hantchi provide a nice boost off the bench scoring 10 points and grabbing 6 rebounds while Cedric Mbiaba recorded a 13 point-10 rebound double-double.
The Voyageurs next game is on Thursday, February 17th at 8pm as they welcome the Nipissing Lakers for the front half of a home-and-home.
