MBB | Voyageurs Can't Hold On vs Rams
The Voyageurs headed to Toronto for a pair of games with the Ryerson Rams on the weekend. Despite have the lead for most of the second half, the Voyageurs couldn't hold on, falling to the Rams 75-71.
The game was a tale of two halves. The first half was a slow-paced game with both teams struggling to hit shots. Gaëtan Chamand had a monster first quarter wrecking the Rams defense and getting 7 points the quarter alone. The Voyageurs struggled with finding their rhyme in the second quarter only shooting 4-11 in the quarter amounting to 11 points. The score was 26-27 in favor of the Rams.
The second half was an explosion of offense for both teams. Sebastiaan Boissevain got 8 points in 6 minutes off the bench for the Voyageurs. It was the Voyageurs' defense in the third that led to easy fast breakpoints. The fourth started with Voyageurs up by six and the team seeming to be rolling and both teams trade baskets for the first five minutes of the quarter with the Voyageurs maintaining the lead of six. The Rams put the ball in their star's hand and they had a 13-4 run capturing the lead. With 20 seconds the Rams hit a go head mid-range buck to go ahead 73-71. The Voyageurs rushed right back down the court and unfortunately missed the go-ahead 3 pointers to win the game.
The team's record is now 6-7 and has a chance to avenge their loss to the Rams tomorrow at 3 pm!
