After a close call against the Algoma Thunderbirds on Friday, the Voyageurs looked to collect another win as they faced off against the Guelph Gryphons, this time maybe a little more comfortably.
However, it looked like it was going to be another tough match for Laurentian, as they were all tied up with 2-5 Gryphons at the half time mark.
Falling flat in the third quarter, losing the period 20-11, the Voyageurs created a deficit they just couldn't overcome which ultimately resulted in a 83-76 victory in Guelph's favour.
Leading contributor for Laurentian was Kadre Gray who earned 33 points, 9 assists and 7 rebounds in his 33 minutes of game time. Third year guard Sam Ivey had 9 points of his own.
Top scorer for the Gryphons was Banky Alade with 29 points, who also grabbed an astonishing 20 rebounds.
The Voyageurs will have a few days to refocus before they're back on the road, this time heading to Kitchener-Waterloo to face the Laurier Golden Hawks and the Waterloo Warriors on Friday and Saturday.
