MBB | Voyageurs Fall to #1 Ravens

It was a tough start to 2022 for the Voyageurs men's basketball team, losing 80-57 to the top-ranked Carleton Ravens. After going toe-to-toe early with the Ravens, the Voyageurs had trouble finding their range, shooting just 27% in the game compared to Carleton's 49.2%. However, a positive for the Voyageurs was the fact that the defense made the Ravens commit 21 turnovers in the game. 

Outside of their shooting woes, the Voyageurs were fairly evenly matched with the Ravens in every statistical category of the game, matching their intensity on the glass, stealing the ball at the same rate and actually getting to the free throw line five more times than the Ravens.  However, the inability to convert on their chances was too much to overcome. The leading scorer for the Voyageurs was Haroun Mohamed with 16 points and six rebounds. He also recorded 3 steals.  The Ravens were paced with a balanced attack as 10 of their 11 players tallied at least one point.

The Voyageurs will have a chance for redemption against the Ravens again on Saturday as they look to get back to .500.
