After their defeat at the hands of the Ottawa GeeGees Friday night the Laurentian Voyageurs men's basketball team were looking to bounce back and finish the weekend with a split as they took on the Carleton Ravens who sit third in the OUA East division with a record of 11-3.

With the game underway the Ravens jumped out to a quick 9-4 lead before the Voyageurs would come back to tie the game staying neck and neck with Carelton all throughout the first quarter. In the end it would be the Ravens who would take a 2 point lead into the second quarter.

In the second the Ravens turned up the heat as they would be led by Marjok Okado who put up 12 points off the bench in the second. On the Laurentian side of things their offense would be stopped in its tracks in the second as they were only able to shoot 4-13 and just 12 total points meaning Carleton was able to take a 37-26 lead into the second half.

The third quarter would be more of the same as the Ravens defense would continue to frustrate the hometown Voyageurs. Laurentian's shooting would not improve as their 12% shooting in the third quarter held them to just 9 points. All in all the quarter would end with the away team extending their lead to 55-35 going into the fourth.

The fourth would end up being a non-factor as the 20 point lead was more than enough for Carleton to safely finish the final ten minutes ahead as the final score would end with the Ravens winning 70-54.

Laurentian's top performance on the night would come from Nginyu Ngala who would put up 13 points along with 4 rebounds and 6 assists while Shawn Bartelemy would also pitch in with 12 points and 9 rebounds.

Next weekend Laurentian will make the reverse trip as they will go to Ottawa to finish off the season series against the Ravens and the Ottawa GeeGees on Friday and Saturday with both games scheduled for 8pm.
