WBB | Lamoureux Named OUA All-Star, Lafond All-Rookie
The OUA women's basketball major awards were announced on Wednesday and a pair of Voyageurs were recognized for their strong seasons. Héléna Lamoureux was named an East 2nd Team All-Star while Emilie Lafond was named to the East All-Rookie team.
Lamoureux, a third year Criminologie student from Laval, QC, who started all 14 games this season, led the Voyageurs in scoring with 12.9 points per game and had a team high 2.5 assists per game and 1.2 steals per game. This is the second accolade for Lamoureux in her two seasons in the blue and gold after being named the OUA Rookie of the Year in 2019-20.
Lafond, a second year Nursing student from Hanmer, ON, played in 11 of the team's 14 games, starting 10 of them, in her first season with the Voyageurs. She averaged 7.0 points per game while grabbing 5.4 rebounds per game while recording a team high 0.6 blocks per game.
