It just wasn't Laurentian's night as they faced off against the Algoma Thunderbirds in Sault Ste. Marie.
After falling behind in the initial quarter 24-10, the visiting team made a strong effort in the following quarters. However this effort wasn't quite strong enough, as the Voyageurs fell for the fourth time this season 63-50.
A major issue for Laurentian was field goal percentage. While the Thunderbirds shot 42.9% from the field and 37% from the three, Laurentian had half the success rate, shooting 23.4% from the field and 18.5% from long range.
Leading contributor for the Voyageurs in the loss was fifth year veteran Emily Tinnes with 17 points and 5 assists.
Leading scorer for the Thunderbirds was Thais Matte with 19 points.
The Voyageurs will have a day off before they're back on the road to take on the Gryphons at the University of Guelph on Sunday at 1pm.
