WBB | Voyageurs Continue Pre-Season with Trip to Calgary

The Laurentian Voyageurs Women's Basketball team continued their preseason with a trip out west to Calgary, Alberta for a couple of preseason games against the Mount Royal Cougars and the Calgary Dinos.
They would begin their trip with a game Thursday night against the Mount Royal Cougars. The game was tightly contested with both defenses playing very well. In the end though it would be the Cougars who would be able to just about edge the low scoring affair topping the Voyageurs by a score of 60-55.
The Voyageurs would get a shot at revenge the very next day as they would finish their two game matchup against the Cougars. This game saw Mount Royal's defense go to another level as the Voyageurs were held to just 44 points with the home side winning their second game in as many days over Laurentian by a score of 64-44.
The Vees would round out their weekend in Alberta with a game against the Calgary Dinos on Saturday afternoon. Laurentian was looking to defeat the Dinos for the first time since 1994 losing all three meetings between the two sides since then. This task though proved to be easier said than done as once again the Voyageurs were met with ruthless defense from the Dinos and once again were held to less than 50 points with the final score being 68-48.
Laurentian will travel to Montreal next weekend for the Mcgill University Tournament with games against the host Mcgil, StFX and UNBC before beginning the regular season at the Ben Avery Gym on October 25th when they welcome the Toronto Varsity Blues to the Nickel City.
