The Laurentian Voyageurs women's basketball team took to the floor Saturday night as they wrapped up their home weekend with a game against the undefeated Carleton Ravens.

After their defeat the previous night the Voyageur looked to reverse their fortunes and pull off an unlikely win against the number one team in the OUA.

The first quarter saw the hometown Voyageurs go toe-to-toe with one of the best teams in the country, frustrating the Ravens with the score by the end of the first sitting at 17-16 with Carleton up by only one point. Laurentian's defense limited Carleton to just 27% shooting and their first quarter effort was rewarded with just a one point deficit.

The second quarter saw more of the same from the Voyageurs on the defensive end continuing to limit Carleton's top offense. The difference in the second quarter was the Voyageurs' struggles on the offensive end as their solid first quarter scoring was followed up by just 10 points in the second allowing the Ravens to build a nine point lead going into the second half.

The third quarter would end up being the worst for the Vees as Carleton came back out in the second half firing on all cylinders. They put up 25 points with 10 coming from Dorcas Buisa while once again holding Laurentian to just 11 points and building up a 23 point 60-37 lead going into the fourth.

The final ten minutes would end up being a formality as the 23 point deficit would end being insurmountable. Neither side were able to get any offensive production in the fourth with the final score ending up being 68-42 for the Ravens.

Laurentian's top performer in the game was Emilie Lafond who put up 17 points along with 9 rebounds and continues to build her resume as a top player in the OUA. Rookie Cadence Pecore also managed to put up 13 points.

Laurentian will have a shot at revenge next weekend as the Voyageurs will complete the home and home series against Carleton and the Ottawa GeeGees as they travel to the nation's capital for games on Friday and Saturday night.
