After their defeat at the hands of the Carleton Ravens last weekend the Laurentian Voyageurs had their shot at revenge Friday night when they traveled to the nation's capital to finish off the season's home and home series.

The Ravens would come into Friday night's game riding an undefeated record and being ranked nationally as the top team in Canada meaning Laurentian would come into the game as heavy underdogs.

Things got off to a shaky start for the Voyageurs as Carleton would begin the game on an 11-0 run with Laurentian not picking up their first points until the 4 minute mark of the first quarter. From there though the Vees would right the ship putting up 13 total points and trailing the Ravens by just four after one with the score sitting at 17-13.

In the second quarter things once again began to unravel. The major story of the second quarter was Laurentian's foul trouble. The Voyageurs picked up a total of 11 fouls in the second quarter alone allowing Carleton to shoot 20 free throws converting on 15 of them and taking a substantial 42-29 lead going into the second half.

In the third quarter the Vees offense just could not seem to get any sustained run as they would shoot a lowly 2-15 from the field going 0-4 from behind the arc and managing to put up only 7 points. On the other side of the court the Ravens had a fairly inconsistent quarter themselves, however they were able to put up a few key baskets late to extend their lead to 21 going into the fourth.

In the end the Ravens proved too much for the Voyageurs as the 21 point deficit would prove too much with the game finishing by a score of 69-48. The fourth quarter would be played fairly evenly but with the large lead going into the final ten minutes Carleton managed to keep the Voyageurs at arms length and come away with the convincing victory.

Laurentian's top performer was once again Emilie Lafond who had another 20 points game along with putting up 9 rebounds while Megan Axiak pitched in with a solid 9 points off the bench.

The Voyageurs wrap up their weekend Saturday night as they take on the Ottawa GeeGees at 3pm trying to break their recent three game losing streak.
