WBB | Laurentian Downed by Lions

The Voyageurs found themselves in a difficult situation tonight, as they were down immediately in the first quarter 20-6 by the home team, the York University Lions. Though they made strides towards bridging the points gap and finished strong in the fourth quarter, this did not prove to be enough as they fell to the Lions for the second time this season with a final score of 80-54.

With both a short and small bench due to injury and absence it was clear that Laurentian was missing some size in the key as they were out-rebounded 49-26 by the Lions - a key factor in the outcome of the game.

Top contributor for the Voyageurs was senior Emily Tinnes who had 13 points and 4 steals in the match- making this a productive weekend for the seasoned guard on the stat sheet. Third year guard Andrea Zulich likewise had a notable performance with 10 points and 7 rebounds, acting as the team's leading rebounder for the night.

Top scorer for the Lions was Lindsay Shotbolt with 22 points.

Laurentian will have only a couple days rest before their next competition as they face the Nipissing University Lakers in North Bay this upcoming Wednesday. Tip off is at 6pm.
