WBB | Voyageurs Fall to #1 Ravens

WBB | Voyageurs Fall to #1 Ravens

It was a tough night for the Voyageurs women's basketball team as they faced off against the #1 ranked Carleton Ravens for the second time this season. This time around Laurentian had home court  advantage, unfortunately the rims still weren't any nicer to them. Shooting an uncommonly low 17.6% from behind the arc the home team lost one of their top advantages- three point makes. As a result the Voyageurs ultimately fell to the Ravens with a final score of 76-43.

Along with shooting percentage the Voyageurs were outplayed on the boards. With a definite height advantage for the Ravens, the Voyageurs were outrebounded 56-30.

Top contribution for the Voyageurs came off the bench from second year guard Kayla Deschatelets who had 9 points. Other leading scorers on the roster were Andrea Zulich and Mackenzie Robinson who each added 8 points.

Top scorer for the Ravens was Elizabeth Leblanc with 14 points.

As tonight marked senior's night for the Voyageurs, the team celebrated graduating seniors Adriane Bruni and L'Ashante Henry, who have earned accolades as Voyageurs during the past four and five years with the program.

The team will look to move forward and focus on their last weekend of season play, as they travel down south in the coming week to face off with the University of Toronto Varsity Blues on Friday night, and Ryerson University Rams on Saturday night. Tip off for both games is at 6 pm.
