WBB | Voyageurs Drop Regular Season Finale, Shift Focus to Playoffs

The Voyageurs faced off against the Carleton Ravens tonight for their second match of their Ottawa double header. After a close victory over the Ravens earlier in January, Laurentian hoped to steal another one to top off their regular season.

Unfortunately, it was a different story on Carleton's home court. The Ravens came out strong, outscoring the Voyageurs 17-7 in the opening quarter. Laurentian attempted to strike back in the second but just couldn't close the gap. The Ravens continued to over-power the Voyageurs during the latter half, which ultimately resulted in a 64-46 victory for the home team.

Rebounding was a strength for the Ravens, as they collected 15 offensive boards compared to the Voyageurs' five. These were rebounds that led to easy second chance opportunities.

Leading the way for the Voyageurs was once again second year forward Bailey Tabin with 14 points and six rebounds. Fourth year guard Andrea Zulich added 12 points as she shot 50% from long range.

Top scorer for the Ravens was Alyssa Cerino with 20 points.

As the regular season comes to an end, the Voyageurs will fall into sixth place in the eastern conference. This means Laurentian will match up with third place team, the Ryerson Rams, in Toronto for the first round of playoffs on February 20th at 6pm.
