For the first game in their three part preseason tournament, Laurentian played host to their 705 rivals, the Nipissing Lakers. Despite a close first half, the Voyageurs were able to hit back in the final quarter ultimately clenching the victory with a final score of 88 to 77.
The Voyageurs were led by their veteran pair of guards, fourth year Andrea Zulich and fifth year Emily Tinnes. Zulich racked up 20 points in the match, going 60% from the three point line, while Tinnes contributed 16 points of her own alongside seven assists.
Top contributor for the Lakers was guard Angeline Campbell with 22 points.
Laurentian will head into game two of their tournament tomorrow evening as they face Champlain College at 8pm at the Ben Avery Gymnasium.
