In what was another impressive display over their rival Nipissing Lakers, the Voaygeurs Women's Basketball team was victorious 68-44.
The point total on the night was the second highest for the Vee's on the season, with their top scoring effort coming at home against this same Lakers lineup (69 points). Like most nights, it was L'Ashante Henry who led Laurentian's scoring with 16 points. Nipissing guard Claire Abbott tied Henry for the game high.
Though at first glance the stats would seem to favour a victory for the Lakers (the Lakers out-rebounded the Vee's 37-29), Laurentian's ability to take advantage of Nipissing's lack of ball security help lead them to victory, with 17 points of their points coming off 17 Laker turnovers.
Missing out on a playoff spot, the Voyageurs will wrap up their 2016-17 campaign next Friday in Sault Ste. Marie in a match up against the 2-15 Algoma Thunderbirds. The action gets underway at 6PM.
