WBB | Voyageurs Badgered in the Paint

Laurentian was unable to upset the home team tonight in St. Catherines, falling to the Badgers after being bullied in the key the majority of the game. Size clearly played  a factor in the Voyageurs' struggle, with rebounding and points in the paint being the difference maker in the match.

Despite the Voyageurs early trail, the team made a run in the third quarter outscoring Brock 16-6. Unfortunately the momentum could not be maintained, with the outcome being a 76-57 victory in favour of the Badgers.

Another potential cause of the Voyageurs' downfall could have been an unbalanced number of trips to the charity line, with the Badgers doubling free throw attempts at 28 compared to the Vees' 14 tries.

Top performer for Laurentian was point guard Emily Tinnes, with 17 points and 5 rebounds as she was a major contributor on the road trip south this weekend. Other notable players for the Voyageurs included second year player Kayla Deschatelets with 12 points and 5 rebounds and veteran Adriane Bruni with 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals.

Top scorer for the Badgers was Baelie Campbell with 15 points.

The Vees are back in action on home court next Friday, November 24th at 6pm where they'll take on the Guelph Gryphons.
