The Voyageurs women's basketball team continued their visit to the provincial capital as they played the Toronto Varsity Blues on Saturday night. After a back and forth opening half, the Voyageurs found their stroke in the second half of the game, pulling away from the Blues for a 61-44 win.
After the Blues got out to a quick five point lead, the Voyageurs reeled them in and, despite being tied a couple of times, never relinquished the lead for the remainder of the game.
Newmarket's Emily Tinnes, with a game-high 17 points, led a balanced attack that saw eight different Voyageurs put the ball through the basket.
With the win, the Voyageurs now find themselves in 5th place in the OUA East with a pair of pivotal games coming up next weekend at York and Queen's.
