WBB | Voyageurs Lose Close Game Against Gee-Gees

The Voyageurs faced off against the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees tonight at Montpetit Hall for their second last game of regular season play. Gunning for a playoff spot, Laurentian looked to come away with a victory to secure their odds, unfortunately the Gee-Gees had plans of their own.

 

After a competitive initial three quarters, Laurentian held a five point lead entering the fourth. However the Gee-Gees made a comeback in the final quarter, leaning on multiple made free throws to propel ahead of Laurentian. This resulted in a 66-64 victory in the Gee-Gees' favour. 

 

Leading the way for the Voyageurs was second year forward Bailey Tabin who tallied 21 points and 10 rebounds as she earned a double-double. Fourth year guard Mackenzie Robinson also earned a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

 

Top scorer for the Gee Gees was Amelie Hachey with 19 points.

 

Despite the loss, the Voyageurs clinched the sixth and final playoff spot, with tomorrow's games determining their opponent.

 

Laurentian will have a day to refocus before they face off against Carleton tomorrow for their last game of regular season play.
