Samuel Branconnier, Men's Curling

Laurentian Athletics is proud to announce that Voyageurs Second Samuel Branconnier (Sudbury, Ontario) has been named the BioSteel Male Athlete of the Week.

Branconnier, a second-year Mechanical Engineering student led his team to a couple victories throughout the weekend at the OUA Championships in Guelph. On Friday, Branconnier and his team were able to secure a 7-5 win to start the tournament. On Saturday, Branconnier and the men lost the first match but bounced back and won the second match, qualifying for the quarter-finals on Sunday morning. Although Branconnier and his team dropped the quarter-final match, he demonstrated an excellent effort throughout the tournament.
